Typical Design

The hallmark of the Celtic harp is the gracefully curved shape of the column, as seen on the Irish coat of arms. The ash-made lever harp has a range of 4 octaves (c-c4).

Tuning

The 29 strings are tuned diatonically to E-flat major, with the blue and red strings showing where the notes C and F are located. By flipping up the respective levers the harp can be quickly retuned to another key, allowing you to play very flexibly with others. For first attempts and easier understanding, C tuning is also possible. The two tuning keys are used to tune the instrument: the square tuning key is applied to the tuning pegs, while the hex key is used for the fine tuners on the opposite side.

Lever Mechanism

The special mechanism of this harp makes it a versatile companion in different keys. Each individual string is fitted with a semitone lever which, when engaged, raises the pitch of that string by one semitone. That way you’re ready for any sharp key with just a few simple moves.

To avoid transport damage, the harp is shipped with the levers flipped up. For initial setup, all levers are first folded down so that the strings can vibrate freely. In this state the harp is then tuned to C major; it is completely normal for the strings to require regular retuning in the first weeks. Once the strings have stretched sufficiently, the tuning will hold much longer.

Tuner with Metronome

This universal device is the perfect companion for virtually any instrument. Not only does the contact microphone and wide tuning range allow almost any instrument to be brought into tune, but the built-in metronome keeps everything in the right tempo. The calibratable tuner offers 5 tuning modes, a tone generator and a jack input with contact microphone. The metronome has a wide tempo range of 30 to 260 BPM, 9 time signatures and various rhythm subdivisions.

Harp Instruction Book

Kristine Warmhold explains all the important information for harp beginners in this method. From construction, tuning and harp posture to various plucking techniques, the most important skills are worked out using the songs. A detailed explanation of each exercise is available in the accompanying videos, which can be downloaded. All songs are also demonstrated in the videos. This gives you a better initial idea of how the finished piece should sound; later you can play "duet" with Kristine. All videos are played on the small 12-string harp so you can start on any larger harp as well.

Solid Music Stand

This music stand features a tripod construction for optimal stability. Of course the legs have sturdy, non-slip rubber feet. The music rest tilts and can be fixed with a set screw. With an approx. 4 cm deep shelf, this stand is also ideal for thick music books.
