The Marímbula is also well-known as a bass kalimba. The body of this Caribbean instrument is made out of Siam Oak and has eight tongues in front of it. The Marímbula can also be played with soft mallets.
The MEINL Framed Gong/Tam Tam stand is designed to allow gongs up to 40” in diameter to swing freely while being played, creating waves of sound that ebb and flow with the movement of the instrument. The sturdy metal frame and base are height adjustable to accommodate different sized gongs with a strong foundation to keep up to two heavy gongs secure.
The MEINL Chau Tam Tams are handcrafted in China using the same methods and traditions which have been used to create gongs in this region for centuries.
